2025 Lake Site Intermediate 1

Intermediate 1 – Private Eye Camp is finished.  Thank you for trusting us with your child for this week.  There was plenty of rain this week, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the cabins to search out clues and be the one to solve the mystery. Doran and Sam kept things on schedule and came up with some great games to complement the theme.

Michael shared the gospel during chapel times and talked about stories of encountering God in the mountains at the campfire. We are all tired, but we are counting on God’s provision of rest over the break!

I hope you hear the stories about the camp, but a week at camp can be pretty tiring, so you might not get all the details you want from your camper. Don’t worry! You can view photos at the link below.

The people who decide how Camp develops are the people who love it and use it. In all ways, your child’s camp experience is the result of contributions and gifts from people who value camp: Crow belongs to God, and to you. We do not have a backup plan.  In all ways, Crow is operating on faith. This week (and every week!) the staff at Crow (almost all of them!) are volunteers. And financially, Crow continues to operate (as it always has!) by donation.

We are trusting God’s provision for

  • Food

  • Utilities

  • Program Supplies (pool noodles and water balloons; but also tarps, vans, backpacks, climbing harnesses, canoe paddles and life jackets… and everything else

Crow exists because people. and families like yours commit to:

  • Volunteer

  • Plan

  • Pray

  • Promote

  • Donate

There’s so much you can do to help us.

  • Volunteer: We’d love to see you again this summer. Contact volunteer@crowcamp.ca to volunteer at Crow Camp, and tell Mason & Liz to give you a job. We have something to do that fits you - your schedule, and your talents

  • Plan: The task of directing this camp, and this ministry, belongs to all of us. Planning for Crow’s future is our privilege - and yours. It’s our responsibility, and yours. In small things, and in big things, we - all of us! Including you! - are empowered, and expected to discern and actualize God’s intentions for Crow. If you have ideas:

    • Invite me for coffee. Text me at 403-715-2399 or email doc@crowcamp.ca;

    • Meet the Camp Board, and help discern & accomplish God’s vision for Crow.

    • Crow’s next board meeting is scheduled for September 20, 2025

  • Pray: It matters that you think of us, remember us, and bring us to God as you pray

  • Promote: Help us recruit families, campers & staff who you think might be able to contribute to or benefit from a week, or a season, or more at Crow!

  • Donate: By our estimate, this past week of Junior One Camp at Crow cost $120/camper/night. This cost was fully covered by donations that Crow had already received. Crow intends to continue this tradition and will remain fee-free, as parents and donors continue to contribute. Not all families will be able to give immediately, and not all families will be able to give much, but that’s fine. Our funding model only requires that every family commits to giving regularly; as they are able; and as they feel led. Scan the QR Code above to visit www.crowcamp.ca/donate

There’s so much that is good happening at Crow. Thanks again for trusting your kids with us. We had a blast. We’ll see you again - hopefully soon, and if not, then certainly next summer.

In Christ,

William Luchka
