2025 Summer Camp Schedule
Lake Site
This summer we are sticking with what we know: the traditional slate of 6 camps at Lake Site - 2 for each age group - with some Feature Out-Trips layered in for some extra pizzaz! And why not? After all - bringing campers into the backcountry and sharing the gospel is what we do best.
Gladstone
Crow is back at Gladstone! We are grateful to have the Legg family as the Site Directors for another summer. Andrew and Franziska were integral to the daily operations of our Gladstone sessions and we look forward to seeing more campers make life-long memories there. We think of Gladstone as... a Church Plant. That means Crow's mission - "evangelism and discipleship in a camp setting" - gives the broad direction, but the details of how many differ, according to the strengths of Gladstone's site and staff team. In 2024, we will build on the successes of past years at Gladstone, while continuing to learn how Gladstone works best.
Mountain Site
In August, Mountain Site will host three camp sessions, one for each age group! This is a cause for celebration, as so many people are keen to return and spend more time at this special site. What are we doing in July, you ask? Well... the plan is - from the time the ground thaws until August, Crow (in partnership with friends from Mennonite Disaster Services) will undertake a major renovation, focussed especially on the bathrooms. We are mighty stoked, and very grateful to Mennonite Disaster Services for their commitment to improving this special place!
Conclusion
2024 was a really good summer. Although we ran fewer sessions, we had more campers attend. For 2025, we have more sessions, and more out-trips, which means we will need more volunteers and support for it to run smoothly. Continually we are amazed by the people who give their time and resources to provide unforgettable experiences at Crow. The #1 limiting factor that caps the number of camp sessions we can provide - and therefore the number of campers we can serve - is the number of volunteers we get. If you like what Crow is doing and can make it for just a few days or the entire summer, come. If you're worried about giving up work days, or if you're limited by money for transportation, or regular bills, send us a message asking about our bursary program. We will find a place for you, and we'll find a way to make the money work.
On the other hand, if volunteering on-site seems impossible, consider sending a financial contribution to make it possible for someone else to volunteer!
