Shape Crow’s Future; Shape David’s Hair.

Save The Date & Celebrate!

November 20 Update:

The celebration meal has been postponed but the haircut is still happening!

Longer Than I Thought

On 17 January 2023, Crow began a project: appealing to overturn a government decision requiring extensive water treatment at its Lake Site.

On that day, David began a project, too: growing out his hair.

What the Hair was supposed to look like:

What the hair actually looks like:

On 24 October 2024, Crow discontinued its appeal. We are happy with the result of the appeal.

This result brings great relief to many, who celebrate this outcome: first among them David himself. Kathryn is also rejoicing, as is Michael Oosterhof, who was heard to say, “All I can say is: longer, much longer than I wanted. Longer than I thought it would be.”

Anyway, it is time for David to cut his hair.

Celebration  heartily  done  makes  our  deprivations  and  sorrows seem small, and we find in it great strength to do the will of our God because his goodness becomes so real to us.
— Dallas Willard

We are going to heartily celebrate God’s goodness, and celebrate the completion of an important project, and a less important one. You should come.

Who is invited?

  • Everyone who helped on this project (and there are a lot of you).

  • Everyone who needs a celebration to remember God’s goodness.

  • Everyone curious about how we will resolve the hair situation.

  • Everyone who is hungry, or wants a sauna.

Together, we will eat a really special meal. We’ll cut David’s hair.

To see the list of possibilities, and vote for your favourite style, visit our campaign on Zeffy, or send an e-transfer. Note: new monthly commitments earn 20 bonus votes!

All donations will go toward program supplies for the 2025 summer season.
